Programs & Athletics

The Alabama Recreation & Parks Association works with state, region, and local associations and agencies to offer a variety of athletic teams and leagues that focus on sportsmanship and teamwork. The Athletics Program is dedicated to provide quality athletic competition, instruction, and participation for youth and adults in the state of Alabama.

The Association also works with state, region, and local associations and agencies to provide programming for adults through inclusive programming and senior activities.

Archery

  • ARPA State Archery Championship: 350 participants
    (250 participants at most recent championship)

Football

  • ARPA Agency Flag Football: 25 coaches / 150 players
  • ARPA Allied Members Leagues:
    • East, South and West Football Leagues: 500 coaches / 6,000 players

Cheerleading

  • ARPA Allied Member Leagues: 5,000 cheerleaders

Volleyball

Soccer

  • ARPA Agency Leagues: 1,000 coaches / 7,500 players
  • AL Soccer Association: 950 coaches / 7,000 players

Basketball

  • ARPA Agency Leagues: 325 coaches/3,000 players

 

Baseball

  • ARPA Agency Leagues: 6,000 coaches / 24,000 players
  • ARPA Allied Members Leagues:
    • AL Dixie Youth Baseball: 6,000 coaches / 30,000 players
    • Baseball Players Association: 1,000 coaches / 5,000 players

Softball

  • ARPA Agency Leagues: 350 coaches / 2,500 players
  • ARPA Allied Members Leagues:
    • AL Dixie Youth Girls Softball: 1,000 coaches / 7,500 players
    • USA Softball: 300 coaches / 2,250 players

Swimming

Track & Field

  • ARPA Agency Programs: 2,500 participants
    (1,200 at most recent state championship)

Senior Centers & Programs

  • 92 ARPA Agency Programs: 6,000 participants age 50+
